Arium Risk Architecture

Client

Arium Risk Architecture is a small company with a particular skill in risk modelling. It had strong interest in one of its innovative ideas from a large global re-insurance broker but needed support in translating this into a software product.

It has developed a linked model to assess re-insurance risks on company personal accident policies which has been through prototyping and is in the final stages of being a supported software product. It is also developing two further models, one related to liability insurances and one to insurance debts.

Charteris' role

Charteris’ initial role, in 2003, was to specify and develop software to assess the risks that accumulate when re-insuring multiple individual insurance risks.

Since then Charteris has had an ongoing relationship with Arium and has provided advice and support in:

• Specification of further models
• Setting up the software as a centralised service available over the Internet
• Recruitment of IT staff
• Project management
• Software development and testing processes

This software product is at the centre of Arium’s business.

Solution

Robin Wilkinson, Arium’s Product Director, commented: "Annette Hughes, a Charteris principal, has been an essential and invaluable team player in translating the risk models from conception into viable software products and Charteris has then provided critical assistance to Arium in managing the development of those products."
