Our clients generally find their development teams capable of identifying and fixing most functionality bugs in their own software, but from time to time problems emerge which their teams struggle with, and which are hard to diagnose with the standard Visual Studio developer tools.

Charteris can provide such assistance in the form of experienced troubleshooting engineers, skilled in the disciplines of methodical fault diagnosis and in the use of diagnostic tools such as:

  • WinDbg for hardcore debugging, generating and analysing crash dumps, etc
  • PerfMon and Profiling tools for investigating performance issues
  • Log analysis tools such as LogParser, SvcTraceViewer, etc   
  • Network communication tracing tools such as NetMon and Fiddler

We will also advise on how instrumentation of clients’ custom applications can be optimised to facilitate operational monitoring and fault identification in future.
