The Team Model
The Charteris Team Model promotes small, multi-disciplinary teams in which the members balance each others competencies. They share a common project vision, a focus on deploying the project, high standards for quality and communication, and a willingness to learn.
Each team member has his or her own defined role or roles, with each role taking the focal point at different points in the process. The team roles are:
- Project Management – responsible for the overall achievement of the project's goals to agreed parameters of time, cost and quality.
- Solution Management – responsible for ensuring that ongoing design and development accommodates approved changes and continues to meet specification.
- Development – ensures the build is completed to the agreed specification.
- Test – ensures the solution meets the specification through testing and is ultimately accepted and approved for release.
- User Experience – responsible for user satisfaction. Communicates with users, ensures the design considers accessibility/usability and manages training.
- Release Management – delivers the solution to the live environment, ensures operational provisions are in place, and gains final acceptance from the business.
